Leonarda Kovacic
biography
i am an international art photographer, photographic historian, tutor/lecturer and curator based in the blue mountains west of sydney, australia. i specialise in landscapes, nature scenes, flora and architecture. my images have accentuated poeticism and meditative simplicity and clarity.
Born in zagreb, croatia, i came to australia in 1997 and completed a PhD in Aboriginal Studies
at the university of melbourne in 2001. for 12 years, i collaborated with the elders of
gamaroi and yularoi nations of new south wales, recording their cultural heritage. i have taught and published on colonial images of Aboriginal people in Australia and overseas.
my free-spirited nature and deep appreciation of spirituality, music and all the finer things
in life have led me to organise cross-cultural events and fundraisers for humanitarian causes.
